Gemini Expert Intelligence in Gemini Notebook, Create Interactive Visualizations with Gemini, Google Drive Video Comments
In Tech Topic episode 96, Bob shared the new Expert Intelligence integration between Gemini Notebook and Google Play Books, Nina demonstrated creating interactive 3D visualizations with Gemini, and Peggy shared how to add time-stamped comments on a Google Drive video.
Nina's background this week is a photo of the outdoor library

Bob Danley: Expert Intelligence in Gemini Notebook
Bob shared the new Expert Intelligence feature in Gemini Notebook. This lets you add ebooks purchased in Google Play Books as a Gemini Notebook source.
Google Play Books currently offers 100,000 works that can be added to
Notebook. Once they are added, you can use them as sources for Audio Overview
podcasts, quizzes, slide shows and more.
He has used this to learn more about using AI for education. He's using Expert
Intelligence to learn from Co-Intelligence by Ethan Mollick,
especially with regards to using AI tutors to solve Benjamin Bloom's "2 Sigma
Problem"; and Teaching with AI by Bowen and Watson.
He notes, "With AI, we will go to two sigma... because AI will become the tutor, the
one-on-one", "It’s considering AI as your coworker", and "This is all about what it means. Amplifying human potential. "
Bob will be sharing more about using Gemini Notebook as your brain trust and
digital twin
in the September 6 OnEBoard Chat.

Nina Trankova: Use Gemini to Create 3D Interactive Visualizations
Nina demonstrated how to create an interactive visualization in the Gemini app, with just a simple prompt.
In particular, she used it to visualize dendritic crystal growth, like
snowflakes. You can generates an impressive live demo by asking Gemini
to simulate the crystal growth and then adjusting the humidity and temperature
variables in real time.
How to Run the Demo
1. Open the Gemini Web App and make sure you have selected the Pro model.
2. Type a prompt like: "Help me visualise dendritic crystal growth like how
a snowflake forms. Give me a 3D visualization where I can adjust humidity
and cooling rate variables"
3. After the text response generates, click the "Show me the visualization"
button that appears below it.
4. Use the on-screen sliders to tweak variables like gravity strength or
initial velocity to watch the orbit destabilize or stabilize instantly.
Click the video below for a demo.
Nina says, "You can ask in Google Search and get some help to write the prompt because
it's a new feature for complex structures. So you need to learn a little bit
how to formulate the wording so that it can generate the 3D visual and when
it's ready you tell it 'show me the visualization'."

Peggy Kolm: Use Time-Stamped Comments in Google Drive for Video Collaboration
Peggy shared the new option to add a time-stamped comment on a Google Drive
video. Google Drive comments are useful for collaborating on a file.
Previously, you could add comments to videos stored in Google Drive, but the
comment would not link to the relevant point in the video. Now the comment
is automatically linked to the relevant point in the video.
1. Open the video in Google Drive and find the point in the video you want
to comment on.
2. Select the option to add a comment.
3. Write your comment, and a timestamp is automatically added. Three is also
an indicator on the video timeline.
Peggy notes that video is more informative than the transcript, "you can actually see the context, you know, see people's expressions,
what they're saying, the tone of voice, all those things that are lost in
a written transcript."
