3. Peggy Kolm: The Watch Duty service (www.watchduty.org) provides real-time wildfire updates for the western US. It's run by a volunteer team of experts, including firefighters, dispatchers, and first responders who monitor updates and use their expertise to share relevant information. This is the best way to distribute accurate information, rather than crowdsourced apps that anyone can update.
