Peggy K delivered an update on Gemini Omni integration within Google Vids, the Workspace-specific video editing suite. 

Feature Highlights:
  • Realism-Grounded Generation: Gemini Omni generates video clips with significantly improved textures and physics.
  • Text-Prompted Editing: You can now edit existing, non-AI videos using natural language. Want to fix the audio or adjust the color grading? Just ask the AI.
  • Personal Selfie Avatars: Record a "selfie" to create a custom digital avatar that stars in your videos. This allows you to "be" in the scene without standing in front of a camera.
⚠️ Insider Warning: While you can create avatars in both the Gemini app and Google Vids, they are not currently interchangeable. If you create an avatar in the Gemini app, you will need to recreate it specifically within Google Vids to use it there.

Privacy Note: You can manage, preview, or delete the selfie recordings used for avatar generation at myaccount.google.com/video-verification. Be aware that deleting the source recording will immediately invalidate the associated digital avatar.
