Event Management with Gemini in Docs, Promoting Live Streams on Blue Sky and Notebook LM Flashcards

Tech Topic Episode 89 focuses on three primary areas: the use of Google Gemini for event management and multilingual content creation, the leveraging of Blue Sky for live-stream promotion, and the application of NotebookLM for educational content synthesis.

This week's background is a Forest in June generated in Google Meet specifically for the live studio of episode 89

Nina Trankova: Event Management with Gemini in Docs

Utilizing a "live document" that serves as a central repository for social media posts, speaker announcements, program details and all links to the website and event pages, organizers can automate several time-consuming tasks.
  • Back up all social media posts, links to the event website and pages in Google Docs
  • Click to add a Document Tab and it will open the menu with Gemini
  • Use Templates, email, meeting notes etc.
  • Prompt Gemini to generate a Poster
  • Ask Gemini to draft the final list of the festival program
  • Ask Gemini to draft the email invite to the festival
  • Ask Gemini to draft a list of reminders for the organisers to help them with the readiness check prior to the festival.
  • You can limit Gemini search to just your Gmail and Drive, not Web.

Peggy Kolm: Live Stream Promotion via Blue Sky

You can share a link to your live stream video directly of course, but you can also add a LIVE badge to your profile icon, if you are streaming on a supported platform.

That includes YouTube, Twitch, Substack, beehiiv, and the Bluesky ATProto-specific platforms Bluecast and Streamplace.

  1. Open your Bluesky profile on desktop or mobile.

  2. Click the 3 dot icon to the right of the Edit Profile button.

  3. Select Go Live

  4. Enter the link to your livestream. You will see a thumbnail.

  5. Select the length of your livestream. From 5 minutes to 4 hours.

It will only accept links to the supported platforms.

But you can enter the link to your YouTube channel’s next live stream, rather than the specific video URL. For example https://www.youtube.com/@oneboard/live

This adds a red ring and LIVE badge to your profile icon. It’s removed automatically when the time you entered has passed.

Related Tip: Easily link your next YouTube livestream

Announcement: Go live on Bluesky

Bob Danley: NotebookLM and Flashcard Creation

NotebookLM is positioned as a specialized "text engine" rather than a design suite. Users must export the synthesized data to secondary applications such as Canva, PowerPoint, or Word for visual formatting, or to Quizlet for creating quizzes for final formatting and aesthetic design.

OnEBoard will be back with 3 Tips in 10 Minutes on 28 June.
