Tech Topic 61: Valuing the Creative Process, Scheduling with Gemini in Gmail, AI Video Generation in Google Vids

In this week's Tech Topic episode there are tips on the importance of the creative process, using Gemini to help manage your Calendar in Gmail, and the upcoming addition of text-to-video AI in Google Vids.

Bob Danley: Valuing the Creative Process

Bob says:

In the book An Audience of One (by Srinivas Rao) the creative process, not the end result, is the source of happiness…and it can be the gateway to meaning.

Think about it. What makes a great product is a long-term commitment to a craft.

Don’t focus on the end product. Instead concentrate on process over product which is essentially a “growth mind-set”. Growth mind-set is all about improvement (failings of a sort) which feeds action, effort and enthusiasm. Big takeaway is that the process is under your control and not externally driven.

Embracing the process of your work will become a gift to the world...a truth from your heart.

A real world example of letting AI become your process instead of you is from a PIXimperfect tutorial on YouTube "Why Learn Photoshop when ChatGPT Does Everything?". Unmesh Dinda employs ChatGPT to create various imagery products, compares the AI outcome with his Photoshop skillset and finds AI to be lacking in precision, flexibility and unique vision.
