OnEBoard Chat: Blogging

This week Peggy K hosted OnEBoardChat with a discussion about blogging and blogging platforms.

Topics we discussed in OnEBoardChat Episode 178:
  • How do you define a blog?
  • What counts as a blogging platform?
  • Social media versus blogging
  • Guest blogging
  • Creating high-quality original content
  • Using AI tools for blogging
  • The early history of blogging
Takeaways:
  • Peggy Kolm on owning your content: "You're not owning your content that you're posting on Facebook. Whereas, if you have a blog on WordPress or Blogger with your own custom domain especially, that's yours."
  • Bob Danley on the length of content: "... don't be so worried about how much because in a lot of blogging content, they tell you to be brief. And there's a good reason behind that. Because if you're asking somebody to read what you're trying to sell, or educate, or inspire about, you might want to hit the highlights because people are gonna be more appreciative of that and come to your blog on a more regular basis."
  • Nina Trankova on AI-powered tools: "Everyone is excited about blogging again because the writing tools are now endless. You can experiment a lot."
