This week Kim Nilsson (No Substitute), a Google Workspace and Google for Education expert, joined OnEBoard to share three tips for account security.
Here's what Kim shared:
- Tip 1: Use a long unique password for your accounts.
- Tip 2: Enable 2-factor authentication on your accounts.
- Tip 3: Have a good security attitude when checking your email.
- Bonus: What people can do about hijackers or scammers who pretend to have an urgent message: don't rush to respond! To check the validity of emails hover over links, check the email sender details, and contact the apparent sender if there's any question about the validity of the email.
- Bonus: Why data protection in Gemini for Google Workspace for Education accounts is important (more information): the data students share will not be used for AI or large language model (LLM) training.
Thanks to Kim for the really useful tips and everyone who joined us today!
