February 5: Short Vertical Video
Host: Peggy K
Q1 (link): When you shoot video with your phone or camera, do you record in portrait (vertical) or landscape (horizontal)? Does it depend on what you're recording? Or how you plan to use the video?
Q2 (link): Do you post short vertical videos (YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, TikTok etc)? If so, do you use the platform's editor to combine clips, add music, stickers, or effects?
Q3 (link): How do you decide whether to post short vertical video or longer video? Does the format change the way you tell your story?
Highlights
A2. I use third party apps like canva and in stories to begin the creation of vertical videos for Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok. I then use the native app for captioning. Indexes better. The native apps have good location stickers and other engaging stickers. #OnEBoardChat

I use Photoshop for stills, Premiere Pro for stitching together still and video images and After Effects for animation. Add music from YT Audio Library, really good stuff for free.

Personally, I hate that vertical is becoming the norm. I like viewing my photos/videos on the large tv and vertical format is a big waste of space! I'm old-fashioned, or just old 🤣, and started with big, slr, cameras. Horizontal was how you held those.

I m using for business meeting mainly zoom. For big events with more than 50 participants is better according to me broadcasting via youtube. For personal meeting I use Zoom, WhatsApp or Skype.

A1: I agree with @MarkBarrusHypno about considering data consumption first.

A3. Excellent question.

Meeting notes and summaries.
I'll grab a transcription of the meeting, and then:
1) Summarize with actionable next steps.
2) Dispurse to the meeting attendees.
3) Assign tasks with my task manager.
4) Follow up.#OnEBoardChat
A3 Live captioning (and live translation) is a fantastic feature.

I don't pay attention to the AI-based lighting and audio improvements, but that probably means they are working well. #OnEBoardChat

Stick to the point of what you want your website to be searched for.
Traffic that is directed to your site and cannot see what they want will not hang around.#OnEBoardChat

✴️ I also use it to brainstorm to content. One of my favorite ways is to develop a reverse prompt. But that's a conversation in itself.

A1 for creating presentations, I use Canva for some of the graphics, and then put it together as a presentation in Google Slides. That works well when presenting online. I imagine in person, as well, as long as there is a digital projector. #OnEBoardChat
