- How vertical images and videos can be used for wildlife photography.
Takeaways
Nina Trankova: "Almost 64% of all the content is consumed on mobile and
the ratio 9:16 is the new king of the content especially when you scroll on
mobile it sets the standard."
Nina Trankova: "... we tend to move from mobile simultaneously on the
go to complete tasks that are related to our work. That's why the vertical
format of the content is a must. And one recommendation would be to split. For
example, there are some strategies and tips to split the screen and to enhance
the user experience."
Bob Danley: "You don't actually want to shoot everything directly in
the center. You want to use the rule of thirds. Set it off to one side or the
other so it engages your eyes. And to anyway, then again the strength of that
vertical is that you're capturing a vertical plant or animal and it's going to
look not always perfect, but you know, you want to mix your shots."
Bob Danley: "when you're actually photographing things, keep that in
mind that you're having space. Where do you want the space? Above or below the
subject? because you can obviously I think sometimes embedding text into a
photo to annotate it is really a powerful thing. You know, you can add arrows,
text, you know, explanations, titles, those things are very powerful, because
again, you're kind of trying to tell a story whether you realize it or not."
Nina Trankova: "... now that social media has become so not useful for
engagement, engagement is a priority. And if the format can help you break
through this silencing and lack of engagement on the platforms just because
you are creating the content in the correct format for the user, that's super
powerful."
Peggy Kolm notes that you should preview your blog post or web
page to see how it will look on a mobile screen before publishing.
